Leaves: segment apices stiff. Inflorescences dividing into 3 main axes, each axis bearing up to 4 orders of branching. Fruits globose, ripening from green through orange to black. 2n = 36.
Flowering spring--summer. Disturbed hammocks and mesic woods; 0--10 m; introduced; Fla.; native to Malay Peninsula, Java.
