Scape 20–40 cm. Umbel 30–100-flowered. Flowers: tepals white or with pinkish midveins; stamens ± equaling tepals; ovary crests white or greenish in fresh specimens. 2n = 14.
Flowering May--Jun. Heavy clay soils, including serpentine; 1300--1900 m; Calif.
Allium howellii var. clokeyi is known only from the Mount Piños region and San Bernardino Mountains.
