Scape 25–60 cm. Umbel (25–)50–90-flowered. Flowers: tepals white or pale pink; stamens exserted, 2–4 mm; ovary crests white or greenish in fresh specimens. 2n = 14.
Flowering Apr--May. Grassy slopes in heavy clay soils including serpentine; 300--1000 m; Calif.
Allium howellii var. sanbenitense is known only from the inner central Coast Range.
