Leaves: blade dull green, moderately beset with pustulate-based hairs. Perianths white to pale pink; bud glabrous at apex. Fruits 4.2-6.8 mm, equatorial flange 0.2-0.6 mm wide. 2n = 24.
Flowering late spring-early fall. Calcareous clays and shales, sometimes on gypsum; 400-1200 m; Ariz., Nev., N.Mex., Tex.; Mexico (Chihuahua).
