8a. Dudleya cymosa (Lemaire) Britton & Rose subsp. cymosa

Dudleya angustiflora Rose; D. nevadensis (S. Watson) Britton & Rose

Caudices simple or 2-3-branched, 1-3.5 cm diam. Leaves: rosettes 10-25-leaved; blade green, oblanceolate to spatulate, 3-12 × 1-5.5 cm, apex acute to acuminate or cuspidate, surfaces sometimes farinose, glaucous. Inflorescences: floral shoots 5-20-leaved, 5-30 cm; cincinni 3+, 4-10-flowered, mostly 1-6 cm. Petals mostly bright yellow to red, 10-12 × 2-3.5 mm. 2n = 34.

Flowering spring-early summer. Cliffs, rocky slopes; 0-2700 m; Calif.

A report of subsp. cymosa from southwestern Oregon (J. A. Bartel 1993) is unfounded.
