Bumelia reclinata (Michaux) Ventenat var. austrofloridensis Whetstone, Ann. Missouri Bot. Gard. 72: 545, fig. 2. 1985

Shrubs, to 2 m. Stems strigose. Leaves persistent; petiole 2.5-3 mm; blade 10-40 mm, abaxial surface villous across blade. Pedicels 4-9 mm, strigose. Flowers: sepals strigose; ovary densely strigose.

Flowering Apr-May. Calcareous glades; of con-servation concern; 0-20 m; Fla.

Subspecies austrofloridense is known only from extreme southern Florida.
