Plants prostrate to decumbent, mat-forming, 0.1-1 m; twigs sparsely short-hairy. Petioles 4-8 mm, smooth, glabrous. Inflorescences: axis glabrous or sparsely short-hairy; bracts glabrous or sparsely short-hairy.
Flowering winter-early spring. Chaparral, clay barrens; of conservation concern; 100 m; Calif.
Subspecies decumbens is found only at Rincon Ridge, Sonoma County.
