Raiche’s clarkia or red ribbons
Flowers: sepals remaining connate in distal 2/3, usually reflexed together, sometimes in pairs; petals 10–20 mm, blades abruptly tapered to inconspicuous claw, lobes short, not separated by deep sinuses; stigma not exserted beyond anthers. 2n = 14.
Flowering Apr–May. Exposed sites; of conservation concern; 20 m; Calif.
Subspecies raichei is known only from a small area near the type locality just south of Tomales, Marin County, and is listed as rare by the California Native Plant Society.
