Aphyllorchis Blume

無葉蘭屬

Terrestrial leafless saprophytes. Rhizomes short, thin, erect, with thick clustered roots. Stems scapose, erect, simple, with loose alternate scales, sheathed at base. Racemes terminal. Flowers many, perianth not widely spreading; sepals similar in shape, free, concave or cymbiform; petals narrower; lip adnate to base of column, upper portion more or less 3-lobed, hinged to auriculate base through constriction; column long and curved; anther dorsal, nearly erect, extending beyond top of column; pollinia 2, soft and powdery, without stipe or caudicle; stigma entire, depressed under rostellum.

About 12 species, Japan, India, Malaysia, Australia and Papua New Guinea. One species recorded in Taiwan.
