南毛蒿

Perennial herbs, 80-100(-140) cm tall, sparsely glandular, densely viscid, pubescent. Petiole of lowermost leaves 0.5-1.5 cm long, glandular pubescent on upper surfaces and along veins on lower surface, upper surface puberulous or glabrescent, lower surface densely arachnoid tomentose, ovate or broadly ovate, 5-6×4-5 cm. 1- or 2-pinnately parted or nearly pinnatisect, segments 2 or 3, elliptic, occasionally 2- or 3-serrate; middle cauline leaves subsessile, ovate or ovate-elliptic or broadly ovate, 3.5-5×2-4 cm, pinnately parted, segments 2 or 3, elliptic or elliptic-lanceolate, 1-2×0.3-0.6(-0.8) cm; uppermost leaves and lower bracts 3-5-partite or undivided. Inflorescences narrow panicles. Heads ovoid or oblong, 1.5-2 mm in diam., involucral bracts densely arachnoid pubescent or glabrescent. Outer florets 3-5. Central florets 8-12. Achenes obovoid or ovoid. Fl. and fr. Aug-Oct.

HSINCHU: Yulohsi, Leu 665.

Mainly in central and southern China, extending to Vietnam and Thailand. Slopes, grasslands, roadsides; low to middle elevations. A new recored for Taiwan.
