Perennial herbs, 80-120 cm tall, sparsely glandular pubescent and puberulous. Petiole of lowermost and middle cauline leaves 0.3-0.5 cm long, blade sparsely glandular pubescent on both surfaces, also arachnoid tomentose on lower surface, ovate or ovate-elliptic, 4-8×3-7 cm, 1- or rarely lower 2- pinnatisect, segments 2-4, linear, 1-1.5(-3)×0.3-0.6 cm; uppermost leaves and leafy bracts 3-5-lobed or undivided. Inflorescences broadly paniculate. Heads ellipsoid, 1.5-2 mm in diam., involucral bracts sparsely arachnoid tomentose. Outer florets 3-5. Central florets 8-15. Achenes obovoid. Fl. and fr. Aug-Nov.

Southeastern and southwestern China. Slope and waste areas; low elevations to 2,100 m. A new record for Taiwan.
