  • Coreopsis biternata Lour.

    Stems 30-150 cm long, subtetragonous, loosely crisped-pilose, branched. Median cauline leaves opposite, to 9-19 cm long (including petiole 5 cm long), densely pubescent on both surfaces, once (or twice) pinnatisect, terminal segments often ovate, apex short acuminate, margins distinctly dentate, lateral segments ovate, acute to obtuse, lower segments sometimes pinnatifid. Heads 7-10 mm long, peduncles 1.5-11 cm long. Involucral bracts 8-10, linear, 3-6.5 mm long, acute; outer palea oblong, 5-6 mm long, pilose; inner ones narrowly oblong to linear, glabrous. Ray florets, 1-5, sterile, corolla yellow, 5.5 mm long. Disc florets fertile, corolla tubular, 4-5.5 mm long. Achenes linear, 9-19×1 mm, tetragonous, short-strigose. Pappus awns 3-4 mm long.
