Perennial herbs, green to purple. Roots fibrous. Stems procumbent, branched, ultimate branches ascending, rooting at nodes, villous along a line decurrent from the sheath, otherwise glabrous. Leaves sessile, nearly arranged in the same plane, elliptic-ovate, 4-5 cm long, 1.3-2 cm wide, fleshy, apex acute, base rounded, both surfaces glabrous, margins ciliate; sheath cylindrical, ca. 6 mm long, pilose. 1-3 flowering shoots produced from an axil of a leaf; inflorescence terminal, cincinni enclosed in biseriate bracteoles; bract and bracteoles isophenous, ovate-elliptic, margins ciliate, bract 1-1.3 cm long, 0.5-0.6 cm wide, bracteoles ca. 0.6- 0.8 cm long, 0.3-0.4 cm wide. Flower bisexual , actinomorphic; sepals 3, free, greenish, persistent, boat-shaped, lanceolate, ca. 5 mm long, ca. 1.5 mm wide, margin and ridge ciliate; petals 3, free, pink-purple, with a white streak in middle, obovate, 5-6 mm long, ca. 3 mm wide, apex acute, base cuneate; stamens 6, equal, anthers yellow, trapezoidal, base brown, ca. 1 mm long; filaments ca. 7 mm long, barbate, the hairs moniliform, white or white-blue, on the outside of the filament; ovary usually abortive, ellipsoid, 3-angled, ca. 1-2 mm long, ca. 1 mm across, apex emarginate, hispid; style ca. 7 mm long, barbate. Capsules 3-valved, ellipsoid, ca. 3 mm long, locules 2-seeded, apex hirsute. Seeds uniseriate, trapezoidal or elliptic in outline, ca 1.5 mm long, ca 1 mm across, retiform, embryotega apical, hilum punctiform. Chromosome number: n = 18 II, 16 II + 1 IV. 2n = 36.

Distribution: Japan, India, South China (Guangdong, Hongkong, Hainan, Guangxi, Yunnan), Philippines, Indonesia, New Guinea. Taiwan, in northern part, founded in damp places usually forming a larger mat on forest floors at low altitudes. Flowering in Oct.-Jan.

本分類群植株匍匐生長，聚繖花序花梗短縮，小苞片排列成兩列，花序頂生，1-3個花莖 (flowering shoots) 自葉腋長出，和Cy. arachnoidea類似，但總苞片和小苞片同型，沒有特化成佛焰苞狀，花瓣離生，可資區別。此外，本種植物花粉常黏聚成塊狀，花瓣枯萎後萼片宿存，白色的子房存留在其中，極少發育為果實，在野外結實率很低。
