大葉鴨跖草 (大苞鴨跖草)

Perennial herbs. Roots fibrous. Stems branched, prostrate at base, erect above, rooting at nodes, villous along a line decurrent from the sheath, otherwise nearly glabrous or sparsely pilose. Leaves sessile-subpetiolate; the midrib above the leaf white, lanceolate, 9-19 cm long, 2.5-5 cm wide, apex acuminate, base oblique, upper surface scabrous, glabrous beneath; sheath cylindrical, with red stripes, villous at margins. Prophyll ca. 2-2.5 cm long, diam. 3-4 mm, pilose at margins, villous at ridge beneath the leaf. Inflorescences a single 1-4 flowered cincinni, terminal; 1-7 inflorescences uaually aggregated at the terminal of stems; spathes infundibuliform, obliquely obtriangular, the lower edge slightly curved, ca. 1.5-2.7 cm long, uncinate; peduncles ca. 0.3 cm long; pedicels ca. 4-5 mm long. Flowers zygomorphic, sepals 3, greenish, persistent, elliptic, concave, unequal, the anticous 2, elliptic, 3.5-4.5 mm long, 1.5-2.5 mm wide, glabrous; the posticous one lanceolate, 3-4 mm long, ca. 2 mm wide; petals 3, free, unequal, the lateral petals 2, mauve to indigo, equal, planar, clawed, the limb broadly rounded-ovate, ca. 8 mm long, ca. 9 mm wide, apex obtuse, base cuneate-cordate, the claw 3 mm long; the medial petal white, lanceolate, 5-6 mm long, 2 mm wide; fertile stamens 3, anticous, unequal, the lateral two, anther brown, elliptic, base sagittate, ca. 1 mm long, filament ca. 10-13 mm long; the medial one, anther yellow, elliptic, base hastate, ca 1.5-2 mm long, filament ca. 7 mm long; staminodes 3, posticous, all alike, antherodes cruciate, ca 1.5 mm long, filament 5.5 mm long; ovary ellipsoid-globose, ca. 1.5-2 mm long; style ca. 8-9 cm long. Capsules trilocular, 3-valved, lustrous, brown, globoid, diam. ca. 4-5 mm, locules 1-seeded, seeds sometimes abortive, glabrous. Seeds brown to black, reniform in outline, dorsiventral, ventral surface planar, dorsal convex, ca. 3-3.8 mm long, ca. 2.5 mm across, smooth, densely coverde with small farinose granules. Chromosome number: n = 30.

本種植物植株明顯大於同屬的其他種類,葉子近乎排在同一平面,花序頂生,花莖 (flowering shoots) 短縮,常見數個花序集生在枝端。
