Buddleja formosana Hatusima
Shrubs. Leaves membranaceous, oblong-lanceolate, 5-12 cm long, 2-3.5 cm broad, acuminate, rounded at base, entire or obscurely few-denticulate, dark and sparsely pubescent above, fulvous-tomentose beneath, costa and veins inconspicuous above, raised beneath, lateral veins 5-7 per side, strongly arcuate-ascending, anastomosing near margins, reticulations inconspicuous; petioles 3-8 mm long, fulvous-tomentose. Inflorescences of terminal upright spikes to 15 cm long, more or less densely fulvous-tomentose; calyx campanulate, 2-3 mm long, lobes triangular-ovate; corolla tubular, slightly curved, to 1.3 cm long, pubescent without, lobes short, spreading; stamens inserted at middle of corolla tube. Capsules ellipsoid, 4-6 mm long.

Southern Japan, including Ryukyus. Taiwan, on rocky slope above river valley; rare, restricted to eastern Taiwan.
