Scandent epiphytic shrubs to 10 m tall; branchlets stout, with prominent leaf scars. Leaves coriaceous, obtuse to oblong, 8-12 cm long, 3-5.5 cm broad, apex obtuse, base cuneate, margins entire, glabrous and dark above, pale beneath, costa and veins plain above, raised beneath; petioles 1-2 cm long, dilated at base, calyx 5-lobed, the lobes rounded, ca. 6 mm across; corolla campanulate, ca. 4.5 cm long, 5 cm across, tube ca. 3 cm long, lobes patent, 2 cm long; stamens 5, attached to corolla tube; ovary ovoid, 5 mm long, glabrous, 2-celled, many-ovuled. Fruits ovoid, ca. 3.5 cm long.

Tropical Asia. southeastern China. Taiwan, in forests on Henchun peninsula.
