Plant 1-1.5 m, glabrous. Leaves petiolate, petioles 1-2 cm long; blade oblong to lanceolate, 25-40 × 8-12 cm, tip acuminate, base round or cuneate; membranous, ligule entire, 0.5-1 cm long; Inflorescence a thyrse, branched with two ascending lateral axes, erect, glabrous; bract minute, deciduous; rachilla 3-5 mm long, cincinnus with 3-4 flowers. Flowers pedicellate, pedicel 0.1-0.2 cm long, without bracteole; calyx white, cylindric, tubular, 3-toothed, 0.8 cm long; corolla-tube longer than the calyx, with 3 lobes, lobes oblong, 1 cm long; labellum white, with red spots, shorter than corolla-lobe, fan-shape, short-clawed, then expanding abruptly into a 4-lobed limb, the lobes subequal; staminodes subulate, 0.3 cm long; anther 0.5 × 0.2 cm; filament 0.4 cm long; stigma clavate, ciliated orifice; style slender, 2 cm long; epyginous gland 0.3 cm long; ovary deep green, glabrous, 0.2 × 0.2 cm; Fruits indehiscent, orange-red, globose, 0.9 × 1 cm, smooth, glabrous. Seeds 1-3, dark brown, without aril.
