大苞水竹葉
Aneilema nudiflorum var. bracteatum C. B. Clarke in DC., Monogr. Phanerog. 3: 211. 1881.
Perennial herbs, with stolons. Roots fibrous. Stems puberulent along a line decurrent from the sheath, otherwise nearly glabrous; stems dimorphic: the vegetative shoot acaulescent, erect; the flowering shoots one to several per plant, ascending, the longer stems somewhat decumbent basely, unbranched or sparsely branched. Rosette leaves, lorate to oblanceolate, 11-18 cm long, 1.1-1.4 cm wide, apex acute, upper surface glabrous, lower surface densely puberulent, margins ciliate toward sheath; cauline leaves lanceolate, 3.5-12 cm long, 0.8-2 cm wide; sheath puberulent, margins ciliate. Prophyll sheathing, 0.6-1.2 cm long, apex slightly bifid. Inflorescence terminal, consisting of a single cincinnus, 1-5 flowering shoots from axils of the cauline leaves; bracts broadly ovate, ca. 8 mm long, ca. 7 mm wide, apex acute, glabrous, marcescent; bracteoles orbiculatus to elliptic, ca. 5 mm long, 5-6 mm wide, glabrous, marcescent; pedicels 3.5 mm long, glabrous. Flowers bisexual; sepals lanceolate, boat-shaped, greenish, equal, ca. 4 mm long, ca. 1.6 mm wide, apex obtuse, covered with glandular hairs; petals suborbicular, ca. 5 mm long, ca. 4.4 mm wide, purple, veins obscure in fresh material, fertile stamens 2, equal, antesepalous, anthers indigo, narrowly elliptic-oblong, ca. 1 mm long; pollen whitish; filaments ca. 3.4 mm long, bearded, the hairs moniliform, purple, on the outside of the filament; staminodes 4, unequal, one antesepalous, the anther
vestigial, the filament ca. 2.4 mm long, bearded; the others antepetalous, equal, antherodes trilobed, white, ca. 0.8 mm long, filaments ca. 2 mm long, glabrous; ovary ellipsoid in outline, acutely 3-angled, ca. 1.5 mm long; style thickened toward the base, ca. 2.4 mm long. Capsule trilocular, 3-valved, ellipsoid, 3-angled, ca. 4 mm long, locules 2-seeded, apex mucronulate. Seed brown, deltoid in outline, 1.6-1.9 mm long, 1.2-1.3 mm wide, apex acute, base truncate, dorsiventral, dorsal surface convex, ventral carinate, radially fasciate with tomentum and many small farinose granules, embryotega semilateral, hilum linear. Indo-China Peninsula. Taiwan, in waste places, usually found in cultivated ground. Flowering all the year round.
