Phaius actinomorphus (Fukuy.) T. P. Lin
Plants 40-60 cm tall. Rhizomes short, rigid, densely rooting. Pseudobulbs erect, short clavate, 4-5 cm tall, 5-7 nodose. Leaves 3 or 4, basal, erect-spreading, oblanceolate, 30-55 cm long, 3-8 cm wide, apex acuminate, base decurrent, glabrous, 5-nerved; petiole 10-20 cm long, sheathing at base. Scapes erect, glabrous, 40-60 cm long; rachis 10-15 cm long, more or less densely flowered; bracts caducous, whitish, lanceolate, 3-4 cm long, acuminate, membranaceous, much exceeding flowers. Flowers yellowish, not spreading; pedicel and ovary 1.5 cm long, clavate, glabrous; sepals nearly equal, oblong-ligulate, 8-10 mm long, 3.5-4 mm wide, acute or apiculate at apex, 3-5-nerved; petals elliptic, as long as sepals or nearly so, acute at apex, contracted at base, 3-nerved; lip entire, spurless, similar to petals, concave, more or less undulate-involute, 3-nerved, glabrous, apex truncate, mucronate; column erect, sub-terete, 4-5 mm long; anther cap circular; pollinia whitish yellow, 1.5 mm long; stigma terminal, under anther; rostellum absent.
