Circaea glabrescens (Pamp.) Hand.-Mazz., Symb. Sin. 7: 604. 1933; Raven in Fl. Taiwan 3: 883. 1977.

禿梗露珠草

  • Circaea cordata var. glabrescens Pamp.

    Plants 12-80 cm tall, pubescent with short, falcately recurved hairs, rarely glabrous. Rhizomes non-tuberous. Leaves 3.7-11 cm long, 1.8-5 cm wide, narrowly to broadly ovate, base rounded or very rarely subcordate, apex acuminate to short acuminate, margins denticulate. Flowering pedicels glabrous, perpendicular to axis of raceme, not clustered, flowers distantly spaced, opening after elongation of raceme axis. Nectary wholly within floral tube and inconspicuous. Fruit bilocular, 2-seeded, obovoid to pyriform, tapering smoothly to pedicel, without ribs or sulci but with a shallow groove, which represents an extension of pedicel. Fruiting pedicel and mature fruit, 4.5-8.5 mm long. 2n=22. Flowers Jul-Aug; fruit Aug-Sep.

    HUALIEN: Sasaki s. n. 1932.

    Endemic to central China (W Hubei, N Sichuan, SE Gansu, S and C Shaanxi to SW Shanxi); disjunct on Taiwan where it is known from only one collection. Deciduous forests, 700-2,500 m.
