Cryptostylis arachnites var. taiwaniana (Masam.) S. S. Ying
Plants, 15-25 cm tall. Rhizome creeping or ascending, 1-3-foliate. Leaves ovate to ovate-oblong, 515 cm long, 3-6 cm wide, scattered with dark green blotches on green upper surface, pale green on lower surface, acute at apex, obtuse or rounded at base; petioles 7-12 cm long, with dark spot, fleshy. Scape up to 25 cm tall, with 2-5 scales below, rachis 5-15 cm long; bracts ovate-lanceolate, 5-nerved. Flowers 5-15, sepals green, lanceolate, 8-15 mm long, 2-3 mm wide, inrolled at margins; petals similar to sepals, 7-12 mm long, 2 mm wide; lip orange-purple, scattered with dark spots, rhombic-oblong or obovate, 1.5-2 cm long, 8-12 mm wide, velvety on upper surface, glabrous on lower surface, acute at apex, recurved on middle margins, disc with 4 lateral main veins parallel to midrib, outer ones at midway between midrib and margins, midrib not distinctly thickened; column 2.3-2.5 mm long, with prominent rugose auricles; anther ellipsoid, erect, echinate outside; pollinia with semi-globose viscidium.
