Dendrobium victoriae-reginae var. miyakei (Schltr.) T. S. Liu & H. J. Su
Stems closely tufted, erect or arched and pendent from erect base, not branched, thickened upward from slender base, to 60 cm long; internodes cane-like or obconic-cylindrical, 1-2 cm long, 0.5-1 cm in diam., furrowed, covered with sheaths. Leaves distichous, ligulate, erect-patent, 6-10 cm long, 1.2-1.8 cm wide. Racemes at nodes on defoliated stem, less than 2.5 cm long, densely 6-10 flowered; peduncle ca. 5 mm long; bracts ovate-lanceolate, acuminate; pedicel and ovary 13-15 mm long. Flowers blue-vio-let to purplish red, with darkish purple veins; dorsal sepal ovate or elliptic, 9-13 mm long, 5-6 mm wide, subacute; lateral sepals oblique, ca. 15-18 mm long, adnate at base to foot of column, mentum 9 mm long, parallel to pedicel; petals obovate-oblong, nearly as long as dorsal sepal, apex acute; lip spatulate, ca. 18-22 mm long, 7-8 mm wide, clawed at base, laminna ovate, laterally upturned; column yellowish, 3 mm long, 3 mm wide, 2-armed, foot 9 mm long; anther yellowish, cup-like, more or less ciliate at base; pollinia pale yellow, oblong. Capsule fusiform, 3-4 cm long.
