Gnaphalium hypoleucum var. hypoleucum

秋鼠麴草

Annual herbs from tap roots. Stems erect, white woolly, branching apically, 30-60(-90) cm tall. Leaves cauline, thin, 1-nerved; lower leaves withering before anthesis, median ones congested, linear, 4-5×2.5-7 mm, apex acute, auriculate, semi-amplexicaul, margins entire, upper surface green and short crisp pilose, lower surface densely white woolly; upper leaves similar in size. Heads numerous, in terminal congested corymbs. Involucre globose-campanulate, ca. 4×6-7 mm; bracts 5-seriate, scarious, yellowish. Outer florets filiform, corolla ca. 2.5 mm long, style exserted; corolla of central floret ca. 3 mm long. Receptacle pitted. Achenes oblong, ca. 0.5 mm long, minutely punctate. Pappus white, ca. 3 mm long, deciduous.
