Platanthera pricei Hayata
Plants 25 to 45 cm high. Tuberoids ovoid to fusiform, 1-2 cm long. Stem shorter than 10 cm, sheathing below. Leaves 2-5, closely clustered near base of stem or slightly spaced along short stem, oblong or lanceolate, 7-10 cm long, 2-3.5 cm wide, apex acute. Peduncle straight and slender, 5-15 cm long, with 2 or 3 linear-lanceolate scales; rachis 10-15 cm long; bracts lanceolate, 6-9 mm long, 2 mm wide, acuminate; pedicel and ovary 7-10 mm long, ascending from rachis. Flowers racemose, more than 20, green; dorsal sepal concave, ovate, 2-3 mm long, 1.5 mm wide, apex obtuse; lateral sepals oblong, 3-3.5 mm long, 1.2 mm wide, apex obtuse, slightly concave; petals obliquely ovate, 2-3 mm long, 1.5-2
mm wide, apex obtuse, contracted at base; lip divided into hypochile and epichile by transverse ridge, hypochile placed below stigma, spurred, epichile recurved form ridge, 3-lobed, lateral lobes horizontally spreading, perpendicular to central lobe, filiform, 8-20 mm long, often curved or coiled near apex, central lobe ligulate, 1.5-3 mm long, apex obtuse; spur clavate, 2.5-4 mm long, dilated from slender base, obtuse or often shortly bifid at end; column ca. 1 mm tall, with elongate auricle on both sides; anther cells 1 mm long, close and contacted above, divergent below; pollinia obovoid, 0.3 mm long, caudicle 0.2 mm long, viscidia linear-oblong; stigma shortly clavate, placed beside auricle and connate with base of lip; rostellum small, inserted between bases of anther cell, triangular, with short lateral arms.
