Platanthera sigeyosii Masam.
Plants 25-50 cm tall. Tuberoids fusiform or ellipsoid, 2-6 cm long, 3-10 mm thick, with new shoot initiating at base. Stem sharply ridged, with 2-4 larger cauline leaves in middle and lower part and few bract-like smaller leaves in upper part. Large leaves sessile, oblong to lanceolate, 8-15 cm long, 2-4 cm wide, apex acute, embracing stem at base. Inflorescence 10-15 cm long, many-flowered; bracts lanceolate, 8-23 mm long, 3-6 mm wide, acute or acuminate, lower ones larger, usually longer than or equal to pedicel and ovary. Flowers greenish; dorsal sepal concave, broadly ovate, 4-5 mm long, 3-3.5 mm wide, obtuse or rounded at apex, 3-nerved; lateral sepals spreading horizontally or slightly reflexed, obliquely oblong, 6-7 mm long, 2-3 mm wide, apex obtuse, 3-nerved; petals closely connivent with dorsal sepal forming hood, obliquely ovate, 4-5 mm long, 2-3 mm wide, acute or obtuse at apex, contracted at base; lip fleshy, descending, ovate-lanceolate, 5-8 mm long, 1.5-2.5 mm wide, apex obtuse, spur cylindrical, arched and slightly pointing backward, 11-17 mm long, obtuse or sharp at tip; column 3-4 mm tall; anther cells clavate, 2.5mm long, widely separated and slightly divergent below, staminodes ellipsoid; pollinia ovoid-ellipsoid, 1 mm long, caudicle ca. 1.5 mm long, viscidium orbicular discoid; stigmatic surfaces flat and confluent, concave cavity under rostellum; rostellum narrow tape-like, slightly curved into an arch.
