Thrixspermum sasaoi Masam.
Stem 1-2 cm long. Leaves distichous, linear-lanceolate, 4-6 cm long, 4-9 mm wide, apex acute or sometimes bifid, base narrowed, thick and fleshy, midrib sulcate on upper surface, keeled on lower surface, green, often spotted with purple. Racemes axillary; peduncle suberect, straight, to 6 cm long, slender; rachis thickened; bracts ovate, 1 mm long; pedicel and ovary 6-9 mm long. Flowers opening 1 or 2 at a time, white, ca. 1.2 cm in diam., short lived, fragrant; dorsal sepal oblong, 5-7 mm long, 2-3 mm wide, obtuse; lateral sepals obovate, 5-7 mm long, 3-4 mm wide, obtuse or acute at apex, contracted at base, slightly oblique; petals falcate, oblong, 5-9 mm long, 1.5-2.5 mm wide, truncate at apex; lip white, marked with brownish lines, saccate at base, 3-lobed, sac 6 mm long, shallowly bilobed at bottom, lateral lobes erect, 2-3 mm long, 4 mm wide, midlobe obscure, disc pubescent, with a longitudinal callus running from base to midlobe, apex of callus protruding, notched below midlobe; column 2 mm long, with a foot ca. 2 mm long; pollinia 4, nearly equal, 1 mm long. Capsules linear cylindrical, 5-8 cm long.
