Cheirostylis chinensis var. tortilacinia (C.S.Leou) S. S. Ying
Rhizomes erect, rarely horizontal with ascending apex, tapering, glabrous, 3-10 cm long, with few to 15 nodes, leafy upward. Leaves 2-6, upper ones gradually transforming into bracts, lower ones distantly spaced, ovate to lanceolate, up to 2.0 cm long, 1.2 cm wide, acute at apex, round or truncate at base, membranaceous, glabrous; petioles 1-1.5 cm long, sheathed at base, sheaths 0.1-0.6 cm long. Peduncle villose, 1-4 cm long, with 1-3 sterile bracts, bracts 0.7-1.3 cm long, villose; rachis less than 1 cm long, with 1-6 flowers; floral bracts shorter than ovaries, villose outside. Flowers resupinate; ovary brownish green, villose; sepals light brownish green, connate for more than half of their length, 4-5 mm long, villose outside, lateral lobes longer than dorsal; petals white, obliquely spatulate, 4.5 mm long, appressed to dorsal sepal and forming hood; lip white, with two green patches at middle, T-shaped, tripartite; hypochile saccate, with two branched papillae inside, branches often horn-like; mesochile claw-like, with hair-like cells on upper surface; epichile often variously curved or twisted, deeply bilobed, lobes 4-5 laciniate; column erect, about 3 mm long, stylids more or less enlarged and triangular at apex, equal or unequal to length of rostellum; anther 2 mm long, pink at back; pollinia 2, 1.5 mm long, with slender tapering end; stigma, sublateral, slightly convex, elliptic, 1.2 mm long, 0.5 mm wide; rostellar arms straight, 1.5 mm long; tegula stipe lanceolate, 1.5 mm long, viscidium similar in shape, slightly shorter.
