    Small annual herbs, acaulous, with slender rhizomes. Stems slender, erect, 8-15 cm tall, scape-like, with 2-4 remote linear bracts, bracts 2-3 mm long, suglabrous. Leaves basal, rosulate, obovate to broadly spatulate, 1.2-3×0.6-1.2 cm, apex rounded or obtuse, base cuneate, short petiolate, shallowly undulate or broadly mucronate toothed, rather densely pubescent to pilose. Heads hemispheric, 3-5 mm across, solitary, scapes much longer than leaves. Involucre hemispheric, bracts in 2 or 3 series, oblong-lanceolate, acute, scarious-margined, often purplish. Ray florets many, in 2 or 3 rows, white ligule narrow, extruded, ca. 1.5-2 mm long; corolla about as long as extended ligule. Disc florets few, bisexual but functionally staminate, corolla campanulate, ca. 2.5 mm long, 4-lobed. Achenes oblanceolate, compressed, ca. 2.5 mm long, tapering into a short glandular beak, glabrous. Fl. Jan-Mar.

    Southern and southeastern Asia, Malaysia, New Guinea and Australia. Taiwan, not collected for more than 60 years.
