Nervilia taiwaniana S. S. Ying
Plants 5-15 cm tall. Corms whitish, nearly globose, 0.8-1.5 cm across, usually 3-nodose. Leaves petiolate, pale green or green and sometimes marked with dark green along veinlets on upper surface, purplish along major veins on lower surface, polygonal-cordate, 3-4.5 cm across, apex acute, cordate at base, obscurely wavy or nearly entire along margins, edge slightly angled at ends of major veins; petiole 2-5 cm long. Peduncle pale green, sometimes with purple spots, 4-10 cm tall, ca. 1.5 mm in diam., with 2-3 sheaths below, sheaths lanceolate, 1-2 cm long; bracts ovate-lanceolate, 4-6 mm long, 2 mm wide; pedicel slender, 4-6 mm long; ovary enlarged, 4-6 mm long. Flowers solitary, perianth not widely spreading; sepals pale green to greenish brown, with purple veins, linear-lanceolate to linear, 18-20 mm long, 2.2-3 mm wide, acute or acuminate at apex, lateral ones slightly oblique; petals similar to sepals, 16-18 mm long, 2 mm wide, acute; lip whitish, with small purplish dots consisting of cluster of hairs, elongate oblong or oblanceolate, 16-20 mm long, 5-8 mm wide, with incurved narrow base surrounding column, 3-lobed near middle, lateral lobes triangular, erect beside column, 2 mm long, midlobe spreading, elliptic to oblong or elongate obovatae, apex acute, disc with longitudinal keel running from mid-lobe to near base, lower half of keel with white hairs and longitudinally sulcate; column white, clavate, 6-7.5 mm long, distinctly dilated at apex, ventral side with cluster of white hairs below stigma; anther yellowish white, short cucullate, 2 mm tall; pollinia clavate, 1.8 mm long; stigma semiorbicular, concave; rostellum short ligulate.
