Rhizomatous herbs. Stems solitary, erect, 30-60 cm tall, sparsely arachnoid to subglabrous. Radical leaves thin, rosulate, oblong, 10-30×3.5-8 cm, apex obtuse, base attenuate into winged petiole, margins subentire, irregularly dentate, glabrous on both surfaces; cauline leaves few, gradually smaller; lower leaves oblong to oblong-lanceolate, short-petiolate, semiclasping; upper leaves ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate, becoming linear and very small below inflorescence. Corymbs compound. Heads many, to ca. 80 per corymb, 25-30 mm across. Involucre tubular, 6-7×12 mm, ecalyculate, corolla yellow, 15-23×2-3.5 mm. Disc florets: corolla light yellow, 7.5-9 mm long. Achenes cylindric, 1.5-2 mm long, glabrous. Pappus white, 10-12 mm long.
ILAN: Nanao, Sasaki s. n. 1914.
Endemic; local in eastern Taiwan, not collected for more than 80 years.
