Thrixspermum xanthanthum Tuyama
Stem usually less than 3 cm long, internodes ca. 5 mm long. Leaves nearly distichous, variable in shape and size, elliptic to linear-oblong, sometimes falcate, 2-8 cm long, 7-15 mm wide, apex acute, base cuneate, often twisted. Raceme axillary; peduncle slender, suberect to pendulous, 2-4 cm long, more or less flexuous; rachis 2 cm long; bracts ovate, 2-3 mm long; pedicel and ovary 7-10 mm long. Flowers 2-4, opening simultaneously, creamy yellow, abaxial midrib of sepals tinged red; dorsal sepal elliptic, 6-8 mm long, 4-5 mm wide, obtuse, lateral sepals obliquely ovate, 6.5-7 mm long, 4-5 mm wide, acute to obtuse; petals oblong-spatulate, 6.5-7 mm long, 2.5-3 mm wide, obtuse, sometimes inconspicuously dentate at apex; lip pale yellow or yellowish, sometimes with red spots, with shallow saccate base, 5-6 mm in total length, 7-8 mm wide, 3-lobed, lateral lobes erect, falcate-oblong, 6-7 mm long, apex obtuse-rounded, with brownish red stripes, midlobe thick, mucronate, reddish, extending into a small process near apex, disc with a tuft of purple hairs; column greenish yellow, tinged with red, 3 mm high, foot ca. 4 mm long, with purple markings; anther cap whitish, broadly reniform; pollinia 4 in 2 groups, or 2 and distinctly sulcate. Capsules linear-cylindric, 4-5 cm long.
