Pseudocystopteris Ching
Terrestrial ferns; rhizome usually stout and erect, rarely long creeping; scales thin, lancrolate or ovate and light brown, some narrow and black . Stipe green, stramineous, or purple, with 2 vascular strands at base and uniting into U-shaped strand at middle rachies; lamina pinnate to decompound; veins all free; rachis and costae grooved and connected on dorsal side, some species with spines on the dorsal side of rachies, costae and costulate. Sori oblong or round, usually crossing a veinlet, some species with Diplazium type. Indusia linear, J-shape or reniform.
About 24 species in Taiwan, most species in Taiwan grown at altitude 1000 to 3000 m.
