Rhizome ascending. Stipes stramineous, tufted, 15-30 cm long, scaly near base; scales thin, brown, lanceolate; lamina ovate, trupinnatifid, 20-30 cm long, 12-15 cm wide; texture herbaceous; pinnae somewhat ascending, acuminate, often acudate, 5-10 cm long, 25-35 cm wide, petiolate, basal pair of pinna usually slightly shorted; pinnuiles petiolate, anadromous, flandular pubescent n upper surface along rachis and rachillae; prominent spine-like processes borne on upper surface along rachis and costae. Indusia broad, brown erose; ;inear, curved, J-shaped or reniform, often crossing veinlets.
