落芒草屬
Perennial; leaf-blades rolled or flat. Floret narrowly lanceolate to ovate, dorsally compressed, the callus very short and obtuse; lemma coriaceous to bony, usually dark in colour, the margins seldom overlapping; awn deciduous, short and incomspicuous, straight, not twisted; palea coriaceous, 2-nerve without keels, mostly acute; lodicules 2-3.
Species 35. Temperate and subtropical regions of northern hemisphere, especially Middle East.
Mainly dry mountain slopes, but a few species in woodland.
