Note: Excluded species: Helichrysum leptolepis DC. based on a Bojer specimen indicated as from Madagascar, was interpreted by Humbert as a labelling error, the plant (now referred to H. candolleanum H.Buek) is only known from mainland Africa; DC. cited a specimen of Helichrysum yuccifolium Lam. collected by Bernier indicated to be from Ste-Marie, this was interpreted by Humbert as a labelling error, the plant is known only from Mauritius.
