Ambavia capuronii (Cavaco & Keraudren) Le Thomas
Compt. Rend. Hebd. Seances Acad. Sci., Ser. D., Sci. Nat. 274: 1655 (1972).

  • Popowia capuronii Cavaco & Keraudren

    Distribution: Endemic to Madagascar

    Bioclimate: Humid

    Vegetation Formation: Forest

    Elevation (m): 0-499

    Province: Fianarantsoa, Toamasina

    Protected Areas : Manombo, Masoala

Rarity: Known only from 2-5 localities

Note: We exclude numerous specimens that have been placed here, but which we believe represent 2 new undescribed species, true A. capunonii differs from these most markedly by its very thick flowering and fruiting pedicels and larger flowers. It does, however show a marked disjunction between Manombo and Antongil Bay.
