Crinum filifolium H. Perrier
    Bull. Soc. Bot. France 86: 90 (1939).

  • Crinum filifolium var. brevistylum H. Perrier [Illegitimate name lacking Latin diagnosis]

    Distribution: Endemic to Madagascar

    Bioclimate: Dry

    Vegetation Formation: Forest, Inselberg/Rock Face

    Elevation (m): 0-499

    Province: Mahajanga

Protected Areas : Tsingy de Namoroka

Rarity: Known only from the type specimen

Note: C. filifolium var. brevistylum is an invalid name lacking a latin description, but in any case it really doesn’t seem to merit recognition, the variation in style length seems to be similar to the dimorphism to be found in other species of the genus (e.g. C. modestum. Even Perrier de la Bâthie regarded his variety as a 'forme brevistyle', and noted that it occured very close to the typical plant.
