Anemonastrum crinitum (Juz.) Holub
Anemone crinita Juz.
Taproot long branched at the top. Flowering stem 40-60 cm, robust, erect. Basal leaves long petiolate, light green, woolly-pubescent dissected into 3 to 5 segments; involucral leaves large, dissected into many segments. Umbel-like inflorescence (cyme) of 5 to 10 large white flowers 4-5 cm diam. V - April to October. Fl - mid-spring. Fr - August - September. P - by seed. Flowers in the third year after sowing. Does well in partial shade. Very cold-resistant. Z 3. New.
Siberia (in mountains in its southern border) and northern Mongolia. Meadows, forest edges, grassy slopes.
