Pulsatilla taurica Juz.
Plant 25-35 cm when in flower. Taproot and rhizome stout. Basal leaves pinnately compound, broadly ovate or elongate-ovate, 20-25 cm x 5-10 cm. Flowers large, dark violet, densely pubescent. V - early spring to mid autumn, in St. Petersburg May-June. Fr - June-July. Propagation by seed. Grows in full sun and in partial shade. Z 5 (4). New.
Crimea. Dry grassy places, open mountain slopes, rocky places, cliffs.
