Woronovia speciosa (Albov) Juz.
Flowering stem up to 80-90 cm, single, rarely 2, leafy. Rhizome horizontal, thickened. Basal leaves numerous, long-petiolate, pinnate, lyriform, 10-30 cm long. Terminal leaflets very large, 12-15 cm x 15-20 cm. Stem leaves sessile, cuneate. Corymbiform inflorescence of 5-15 golden yellow flowers, each of them up to 3 cm diam. V -early spring (basal leaves can overwinter) to late autumn. Fl - June. Fr - September. P - by seed and by division. Requires a sunny position, lime and a well-drained soil. Very attractive bold foliage plant. Planted in groups, the plant looks very effective. Z 5 (4). New.
Caucasus (western Transcaucasicus, Abkhazia, Mingrelia and Cherkessia). Mainly on limestone slopes, in alpine and subalpine meadows.
