Bupleurum atropurpureum (C. Y. Wu) C. Y. Wu.
Stem, bracts and bracteoles purplish-red, thickly papery. Leaves green on both surfaces. Petals dark purple. Stylopodium dark purple.
Grassy slopes; ca. 2900 m. W Yunnan (Zhenkang).
This poorly known taxon is recorded only from a few collections.
