Petiole and pedicels glabrous, without glands; leaf blade 6–10.5 cm wide.
Forests; ca. 1200 m. SC Sichuan (Emei Shan).
The type specimen of var. hemsleyanum has glabrous pedicels. This makes the distinctions between these two varieties less reliable.
