Chang (FRPS 49(3): 44. 1998) used the name Camellia acuticalyx, giving the same author and place of publication as the later homonym, C. acutisepala Hung T. Chang (Acta Sci. Nat. Univ. Sunyatseni 30(4): 89. 1991). Although Chang did not actually indicate that he was proposing a new name, a nomen novum was nevertheless validly published under Art. 33.4 of the Vienna Code.
