Leaf blade oblong-oblanceolate to oblong, 8-12 × 3-4 cm, leathery to thinly leathery, secondary veins usually obscure, margin serrulate except for entire basal 1/4-1/3. Flowers 5-6 cm in diam. Petals red to pink. Capsule globose, ca. 4 cm in diam. Fl. Jan-Mar, fr. Sep-Oct. 2n = 90*.
