Plants annual, (20-)25-40 cm tall, glabrous. Stem branch-ed. Leaves alternate; petiole 2-4 cm; leaf blade ovate or ob-long-ovate, 2.5-7.5 × 1.5-2.8 cm, membranous, with 1 pair of stipitate basal glands, lateral veins 4 or 5 pairs, base cuneate, margin crenate-serrate, teeth mucronulate, apex acuminate. In-florescences in upper leaf axils, 2- or 3-flowered; peduncles erect, 1-2.5 cm. Pedicels 5-10 mm, slender, bracteate at base; bracts persistent, lanceolate, ca. 2.5 mm, membranous, apex acute. Flowers yellow, small, ca. 1.5 cm deep. Lateral sepals persistent, ovate, ca. 2.5 mm, apex acute. Lower sepal funnelform, ca. 1.6 cm deep, gradually narrowed into an incurved spur ca. 1.1 cm; mouth vertical, ca. 5 mm wide, tip cuspidate. Upper petal broadly ovate, ca. 3.5 × 4 mm, apex rounded, mucronulate, abaxial midvein narrowly carinate; lateral united petals not clawed, 8-10 mm, 2-lobed; basal lobes ovate, small; distal lobes dolabriform, apically retuse. Filaments linear, ca. 2 mm; anthers ovoid, apex obtuse. Ovary linear, ca. 2 mm. Capsule fusiform, 1.2-1.8 cm. Seeds brown, elliptic, 2-3 mm, tuberculate. Fl. and fr. Sep-Oct.
