毛叶杜鹃 mao ye du juan
Small shrubs, 0.5–1 m tall; branchlets densely scaly, setose; bud scales deciduous. Petiole 2–3 mm, scaly, setose; leaf blade aromatic, oblong-lanceolate, obovate-lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, 1–1.8 × 0.3–0.6 cm; base rounded to tapering; margin scaly and strap-shaped-setose; apex acute or obtuse; abaxial surface scales overlapping, arranged in 2–3 tiers, pale yellowish brown and dark brown; adaxial surface green, shiny, scaly, setose. Inflorescence 8–10-flowered. Pedicel 0.2–0.3 cm, scaly, setose; calyx lobes 1–2 mm, ovate, scaly, setose, margin ciliate; corolla narrowly tubular with spreading lobes, pink to pale rose-purple, 0.8–1.2 cm, tube 6–10(–12) mm, outer surface scaly, throat densely pilose; stamens 5, included in corolla tube, filaments glabrous; ovary ca. 1 mm, scaly; style turbinate, nearly as long as ovary. Fl. May–Jun.
Mixed thickets, Rhododendron thickets, boulders; 3000–4100 m. W Sichuan.
