Prostrate or upright shrubs, often epiphytic, 0.3–0.9 m tall. Petiole 4–13 mm, densely woolly; leaf blade ovate, ovate-lanceolate, oblong-lanceolate or oblong-elliptic, 3–8 × 1.5–4 cm; base rounded or obtuse; apex acuminate, acute or obtuse; abaxial surface densely brown-woolly, scales distant, very small; adaxial surface bullate, scaly, sparsely pubescent. Inflorescence 1- or 2-flowered. Pedicel 1–2 cm, densely woolly; calyx pale green, lobes 5–9 mm, rounded, persisting to enclose mature capsule, scales sometimes present on margin and abaxially, densely woolly; corolla shortly campanulate, yellow, 1.5–2.5 cm; outer surface scaly, glabrescent; stamens 10, slightly shorter than corolla; ovary densely woolly, scaly; style short, sharply deflexed, usually without scales or hairs. Capsule ellipsoid, 8–14 mm, scaly, densely brown-woolly. Fl. Apr–May, fr. Aug–Nov.
Dense forests, epiphytic on trees, cliffs, shady rocks; (1800–) 2000–2500(–3500) m. SE Xizang, NW Yunnan [N Myanmar].
