Herbs low. Stems 1 to several, erect or ascending, unbranched. Leaves opposite, oblong-lanceolate, pinnatipartite. Inflorescences short racemose. Calyx lobes 5. Corolla purplish red with yellow galea; tube ca. 2 X as long as calyx; galea falcate; beak short, slender, usually S-shaped; middle lobe of lower lip hoodlike at apex.
