Description from Flora of China
Herbs, perennial, small. Rhizomes with scalelike leaves. Leaves opposite, appressed to ground, palmately 5-9-veined. Flowers several, axillary, clustered into a dense head. Pedicel short. Bracteoles 2. Calyx 5-lobed almost to base. Corolla narrowly tubular; limb conspicuously 2-lipped; lower lip 3-lobed; upper lip 2-lobed and longer than lower lip. Stamens 4, included or slightly exserted; staminode 1. Capsule septicidal. Seeds ellipsoid; seed coat reticulate.
One species: Himalayas and Qinghai-Xizang Plateau.
