Impatiens centiflora H. Léveillé.

Plants annual, to 80 cm tall. Stem erect, robust, many branched. Leaves alternate; petiole (0.5-)1.5-2.5 cm, with 2 globose basal glands; leaf blade oblong-ovate or lanceolate, 6-14 × 2-6 cm, setose between teeth, lateral veins 7-9 pairs, margin crenate, apex acuminate. Inflorescences in upper leaf axils, many flowered, verticillate or nearly so, radiate, many flowered per cycle; peduncles to 20 cm. Pedicels slender, bracteate at base; bracts persistent, lanceolate, apex glandular. Flowers pale purple to yellowish white, 1.2-1.6 cm deep, small. Lateral sepals ovate-lanceolate, minute, apex long mucronulate. Lower sepal navicular, 6-7 mm, 1-1.1 cm deep (including spur), gradually narrowed into an erect spur. Upper petal cucullate, suborbicular, apex rostellate; lateral united petals 1-1.4 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes broadly ovate to suborbicular, 2-3 × 2-3 mm, small; distal lobes oblong, 0.8-1.1 cm, apically 2-lobed, apex itself obtuse. Anthers obtuse. Capsule linear. Seeds obovoid, small, smooth. Fl. Aug-Sep. 2n = 18*.

Shaded and moist places of forest understories, humid grasslands; 2100-3500 m. Guizhou, Sichuan, Xizang, Yunnan [Bhutan, NE India, Myanmar, Nepal].
